Walk a Hound. What a great program at the Animal Adoption Foundation. You don't need any special training, just sign up and show up. So my daughter and I signed up for the first time last Thursday. We were welcomed and given a treat apron, treats and poop bags and a dog to walk.
My daughter got to walk Jerry- pictures above. A joy to walk and they had so much fun. I got to walk Linus. A beautiful hound. He was somewhat skittish at first, warmed up and did well with me until we got around to the road. The noise was very scary for him. So as not to stress him further, they took him back and got me Sadie. Cute little mix who had just arrived a day or two before. A little unsure but a wonderful dog.
We all had fun and have signed up for next Thursday. It's just for a hour and it teaches the dogs a lot. And you get a lot of love in return.
